A Label on an Image

I can't put a label on an image, the label just stay under the image, even if I click bring-to-front....

any ideas??

I can't change the font and colors from labels and many other components too....

Does this happens in Linux? (I guess)
I had the same problem but only in Linux, while in win32 it works with no problems.
