Lazarus 0.9.30.4 released

The Lazarus team is glad to announce the 0.9.30.4 release. This release is based on fpc 2.6.0.

This release is available for download at the SourceForge download page:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/lazarus/files/

Choose your CPU / OS / distro and then the 0.9.30.4 directory.

Minimum requirements:
Windows:       98, 2k, Vista, 7, 32 or 64bit
FreeBSD/Linux: gtk 2.8 or qt4.5, 32 or 64bit
Mac OS X:      10.4, LCL only 32bit, non LCL apps can be 64bit

The Lazarus testing repository at http://www.hu.freepascal.org/lazarus/dists/lazarus-stable/ has been updated too.

This release has been build with fpc 2.6.0 (0.9.30.2 was built with fpc 2.4.4). The new fpc version is the major new feature of this release.

Beside that, this release contains a few bug fixes merged from the 0.9.31 version.

This is release is the last release in the 0.9.30.x series. The next release will be from a new branch created from trunk.

0.9.30.3 is the last for fixes_0_9_30 but and now we have 0.9.30.4

Us a normal user I'm a little confused as to which version I should get and what will be next.
Which is fixes, beta, final ?

Do we realy need all this versions ?

No, you just need 0.9.30.4, for now.

I need to restart Windows 7-64bits after installing lazarus-0.9.30.4-fpc-2.6.0-win32.exe

Lazarus is a lazarus *32 process but doesn't load.

Maybe it is better to do this like FPC, 2.4.2 - 2.6.0 and svn-trunk

There also exist or existed fpc 2.4.3  2.5.1   2.6.1 ......

As a rule: If the last digit is odd (1,3,5,7,9) then it is not really a version. It is a snapshot from the SVN (trunk or branch)


For release of 0.9.30 a branch was created (0.9.30.x).
- From this branch to releases were made 0.9.30.2 and 0.9.30.4
- The snapshots from this branch are called 0.9.30.1,  0.9.30.3,  0.9.30.5.
  - They are all from the same branch, the number only changes to indicate after which release it was made.
  - At the moment 0.9.30.5 is the same as 0.9.30.4 release (except for the version number).
    And likely that will not change. Likely the branch will not receive any further updates.
    The snapshot is created automatically, so that is why it exists.

0.9.31 is trunk. Just as 0.9.29 used to be

It's great to know that the FPC 2.6.0 is adopted in the formal release of Lazarus. But I wonder when the FPC 2.6.x could compile custom-draw LCL for Android. It's strang that FPC 2.5.1 works but FPC 2.6.0 can't.

ok but for download you can see only 2.6.0 anv svn.

If you click Download Snapshots you have even more instead of lazarus-current-xxx.exe or svn link.
It looks like a big mess, IMHO.
