On the old forum we had a custom mod package with captcha and verification questions. I couldn't find an updated package, till I realized that that package was a backport of the features of this newer version. I've enabled them now.

I think also that colorscheme needs adjust (more contrast? ).
Also too much free space at the top (even if Hello User is collapsed).

You can go to: "Profile"/"Account Settings"
Then: "Modify Profile"/"Look and Layout"
there you will be able to change your Forum theme:

Current Theme:    Forum or Board Default (change)

there ain't much to choose from, but you can find old "Core Theme" among a few other...

I personally collapse the colum on the right and only use the show unread link at the left side (and use browser back button)

'Started by' is now below the topic title which is what makes it slightly less clear (IIRC the old version had the starter in a separate column).
But it's nice Web two-oh -ish

One more note:
I past, when I clicked 'Insert URL' or 'Insert Code' or others, cursor was placed between blocks <url> and </url>. Now is at the end - it is not so comfortable. Can be previous behaviour returned ?

I am sure it is. I temporarily registered myself to demo site:

and it works there. Also other forums based on SMF have this feature.

What I mean is that I don't have a option on how a control behaves. Is the demo site running the same version, the same theme, the same packages ?

Sorry for the noise, it is probably related to my browser, Opera. I just tried with Rekonq and there it works.
On the demo-site I linked above (where it worked with Opera) is also SMF 2.0 but I don't know exact version of packages.

I just found something I don't like with this new site. I don't like the way pascal code appears in the messages....

It was a custom mod. I need to find one compatible to this forum version.
